VU is a videoconferencing outreach initiative set up in 2004 by Bedford School with the University of Sheffield and the Sutton Trust. Using videoconferencing technology to inspire and inform Higher Education choices of sixth form students around the country, a range of universities now delivers lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and career advice to a network of schools.

VU enables students to experience the level and diversity of study available at university, and sometimes to consider university as an option for the first time.

Looking ahead, we plan to extend our current remit and increase its relevance to students by also informing and inspiring their career choices. To do this effectively we are establishing industry sponsors who are committed to the widening access agenda.

If you are a school, college, university or business, please contact VU to get involved or to find out more about the VU videoconferencing community.
